Cuba president gives nod to same-sex marriage
Cuban president Miguel Diaz-canel has expressed support for same-sex marriage, in his first major interview since taking over from Raul Castro.
“Recognising marriage between two people, without limitations, responds to a problem of eliminating discrimination in society,” he said.
A new constitution to replace that of 1976 – which limits marriage to the “voluntary union of a man and a woman” – has been submitted to public debate.
