Smokey and the Bandit (1977)

 After 41 years, this car chase movie still feels fresh and breathlessly engaging. The late Burt Reynolds stars as Bo “Bandit” Darville, who accepts a bet to drive a lorry of beer across America in 28 hours. The result is an enjoyable farce with lots of car crashes and memorable one-liners, as Bandit picks up runaway bride Carrie (Sally Field), with her prospective father-in-law, Sheriff (Jackie Gleason) in hot pursuit.
