ROKSANDA AND THE BOLD COLOUR REVOLUTION

- VM

Forget saccharine-sweet pastels. Perhaps sprung from the (slightly alarming) thread of Eighties’ flavour coming through (there were sequins, there were puff sleeves, and there was ice-blue satin), strong, fearless colourways were a keen recurrence, offering a way of dressing that perhaps chimes with the new vocal strength that women are finding in this postweinstein climate. Or maybe we’re just sick of being sold the same style ideas as given to six-year-olds. Roksanda – never a woman to shy away from a bold palate – is a master at conjuring combinations that simultaneously jolt and seduce. Note the high neck and voluminous full sleeve – an enlivened, statementmaking modesty abounds.
