‘Charge poor pupils less for university’
♦st♦dents from poor backgrounds should pay less for university tuition than their wealthier counterparts, says an education think tank.
The UK should consider introducing means-tested tuition fees, according to a report published by the Higher Education Policy Institute and Canada’s Higher Education Strategy Associates.
The report, Targeted Tuition Fees: Is Meanstesting the Answer?, states that there is more value for money in reducing or eliminating net tuition for low-income students than there is in doing so for wealthier ones.
