Iranian couple cleared of ‘virginity test’ charges
An Iranian couple accused of demanding their 18-year-old daughter take a virginity test after they found out she had a boyfriend have been cleared of all charges.
Mitra Eidiani, 42, and Ali Safaraei, 56, of Clapham, south-west London, were found not guilty of two counts of controlling or coercive behaviour and were also cleared of making a threat to kill their daughter’s boyfriend. Eidiani was also cleared of assault occasioning actual bodily harm but given a six-month conditional discharge after admitting criminal damage.
