The Chequers paradox
SIR – Yesterday Theresa May, addressing company bosses in New York, stated that Britain will adopt “a consistent and dependable approach to high-standard but intelligent regulation”. However, her Chequers plan would lock the UK into EU regulations on state aid, competition, environmental, climate, employment and consumer policy in perpetuity.
How can the Prime Minister seriously promote such fundamentally incompatible policies? Roger Kendrick
