Strengths An 11-time Cup veteran who, with his newfound friendship with Tiger Woods, can bring much to the team room. Critical of Tom Watson’s captaincy in 2014, he was key in reshaping the atmosphere in 2016.

Weaknesses At 189th in strokes gained off the tee, Mickleson’s tee to green game has been very shaky – not ideal at Le National.
