Avg putts per round 28.3 Hard to believe that this is Thomas’s first Ryder Cup. With a great 2017 (four wins) and three during this season he is a formidable opponent. His all-round performance statistics this year have placed him third in strokes gained total while he is third and second in approach to the green and tee to green respectively. There is no reverse gear in Thomas and he must be a key performer.

Strengths A powerhouse player with a steely attitude to boot. Played the French Open this year, finishing in joint eighth place.

Weaknesses I cannot see any. With the lacklustre form of good friend Jordan Spieth, Thomas can go to plan B and nominate his other vacation travel partner, Rickie Fowler, to create double trouble for Europe.
