Maldives demands president must go

Maldives politcians have appealed to the international community to ensure a peaceful transition of power amid fears that strongman Abdulla Yameen may cling on despite his shock election defeat. Mr Yameen conceded defeat on Monday and must hand over to president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on November 17, but opponents fear he could file a petition to delay the announcement.
