Leeds piano coverage

SIR – Like other readers, I was disappointed at the lack of television coverage given to the Leeds International Piano Competition (Letters, September 26). I, too, blamed the BBC for this inadequacy.

However, the response to a recent query in Radio Times revealed that “the organisers decided to use an alternative televisual broadcast partner for live coverage” – namely the subscription-only channel Medici.tv. Dr Geoffrey Hallas
