Police dog handler hurt saving suspected burglar
A police dog handler underwent surgery after saving the life of a suspected criminal who tried to jump through a window. The Met Police officer suffered serious glass cuts to his arms as he detained the burglary suspect and remains in hospital after the incident in Chislehurst, south-east London, on Saturday evening.
Scotland Yard said two suspects fled the location, which was unoccupied, by breaking through a window on the first floor.
One of the men, in his 20s, was detained and arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary after a knife was allegedly found in his bag.
