Pizza shop ‘charged attack victim for water’

-

A man who had liquid thrown into his face that he believed was corrosive has claimed a takeaway shop tried to charge him for water to help him in the wake of the attack.

Mike Glover-johnson, 46, was attacked while he sat in his car waiting for husband Lee, 41, to collect a pizza on Sunday night. He claims staff at the Chunky Grill in Bloxwich, West Midlands, gave him two bottles of water that he poured on to his face but was told he must pay for a third.

But Sayed Hashmi, the shop owner, said on Facebook it was a “misunderstanding”, adding: “We gave them water and we didn’t turn them away. [He] has NOT been charged.”
