Crossrail boss to quit over construction delay

-

Sir Terry Morgan, the head of Crossrail, is expected to step down within weeks after it emerged that the London rail line will be delayed well into next year.

Sir Terry, who is also chairman of the HS2 high-speed rail link, said last month that he had no intention of quitting the helm of Crossrail Ltd, telling Caroline Pidgeon, chairman of the London Assembly Transport Committee: “My determination is to finish the job.”

Officials in Whitehall are drawing up a list of potential successors to Sir Terry, although it was unclear whether any had been approached yet.
