France’s most wanted caught after jailbreak

France’s most wanted gangster has been caught three months after he escaped from jail in a helicopter that landed in the prison courtyard.

Redoine Faïd, 46, was arrested along with three others in a dawn raid at a housing estate in the Oise region, north of Paris, yesterday.

Dozens of police also seized his brother Rachid and two of the gangster’s nephews, as well as two guns. Faïd had been serving a 25-year term over a botched 2010 robbery in which a policewoman was killed.
