Reluctant Persuaders

RADIO 4, 6.30PM

 Nigel Havers stars alongside Mathew Baynton (Vanity Fair, Horrible Histories), Rasmus Hardiker (Black Mirror) and Josie Lawrence (Robin Hood) in a third series of Edward Rowett’s snappy sitcom about Hardacre’s, the worst advertising agency in London. Waking up in hospital, copywriter Joe Starling has to be filled in on the latest shenanigans afflicting the company, after his doomed acquisition of a major account at the end of the previous series. The cast has great comedy chops, and there are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Assignment: Don’t Shoot, I’m Disabled

WORLD SERVICE, 10.00PM

 In the USA, much public discussion of police killings of innocent civilians has (rightly) highlighted the racial aspect, namely the disproportionate number of black victims. But there’s another social dimension to these crimes: according to research, as many as half of those killed had a disability, including schizophrenia, autism, Down’s Syndrome and deafness. This new investigation, by North America correspondent Aleem Maqbool, uncovers troubling facts about US police culture and attitudes to disability more widely.
