Chicago ready for unrest as policeman convicted
Chicago braced for protests last night as a white policeman was convicted of manslaughter for shooting a black teenager in a killing caught on video.
Jason Van Dyke, 40, faces up to 20 years in prison he was found guilty of second-degree murder.
Laquan Mcdonald’s death caused unrest after footage showed Van Dyke shooting Mr Mcdonald 16 times.
An extra 4,000 officers were depoloyed last night to keep the peace.
