Philippines president undergoes cancer tests
Rodrigo Duterte, the Philippine president, is awaiting the results of fresh medical tests, saying that “if it’s cancer, it’s cancer”.
In a speech on Thursday, Duterte, 73, said he underwent an endoscopy and colonoscopy about three weeks ago but that he was advised this week to repeat the tests.
“If it’s third stage [cancer], no more treatment. I will not prolong my agony in this office or anywhere,” he said.
