Millions of microbes just waiting to pounce
SIR – The worst place to pick up harmful germs (Letters, October 6) must be the supermarket trolley. The handles are often sticky, which must attract millions of microbes.
I try to take a wet wipe to clean the handle before use, but the problem then is safe disposal of the wipe. Michael Jones

SIR – Supermarket chains in America provide antiseptic wipes at entrances for concerned shoppers to disinfect the handles of their trolley or basket. I have never seen this sensible service in a British supermarket. Michael Bacon
