Crash that killed 20 is a limo safety ‘wake-up call’

-

Governor Andrew Cuomo said the limousine that crashed in upstate New York on Saturday, killing 20, failed its inspection last month, and that the driver was not properly licensed.

The accident, which killed four sisters, was the deadliest US transport crash in nearly a decade, according to federal authorities.

Robert Sumwalt, chief of the National Transportation Safety Board, said the accident should be “a wake-up call” for limousine safety.
