 Veteran actor Jim Carter (Downton Abbey) is the final guest to the British Library, where he has to turn those magnificently stentorian tones down a notch or two before speaking. Carter examines the library’s remarkable collection of circus posters (which date back to the 18th century), listens to a few tracks from his skiffle-loving youth, and studies a stunning ninthcentury manuscript that lays out in detail the Roman invasion of Britain.
