Fraudsters jailed for crash scam worth £4m
A pair of cash-for-crash fraudsters behind a £4million scam involving 250 collisions over a three-year period were jailed yesterday. Boota Ram, 38, of Slough, was given a nine-year sentence at Reading Crown Court for conspiracy to commit fraud. His nephew, Gagandeep Gagandeep, 30, also of Slough, was jailed for three years for his part in the conspiracy.
The pair orchestrated crashes with innocent drivers, mainly on mini roundabouts. Ram was jailed in his absence after absconding part way through the trial.
