Living history
In a former railway depot in Manchester, performers rehearse for tonight’s world premiere of Everything That Happened and
Would Happen by Heiner Goebbels, the German composer and director. The performance, part of the Manchester International Festival, features musicians, dancers and actors who explore the story of Europe since the outbreak of the First World War. Lasting three hours, the new work uses live music, sound, movement, images, film and a Euronews feed.
