Penthouse at One Hyde Park sells for record £160m
A LONDON apartment snapped up for an eye watering £160 million is believed to be the most expensive home ever sold in the UK.
The two-storey penthouse in One Hyde Park, the Knightsbridge development built by the Candy brothers, has two wine cellars, two underground parking spaces and wraparound balconies overlooking the park.
Land Registry filings revealed it was sold to two holding companies in Guernsey earlier this year, according to The Guardian. The buying firms are said to be registered at a PO Box address in a seafront office in St Peter Port, Guernsey’s capital. The UK’S previously highest house sale price was £140million, spent by Andrei Borodin, a former Bank of Moscow president, on the Park Place Estate near Henley-on-thames, Oxon, in 2011.
