Reluctant Persuaders RADIO 4, 6.30PM

 Nigel Havers stars, alongside Mathew Baynton (Vanity Fair, Horrible Histories), Rasmus Hardiker (Black Mirror) and Josie Lawrence (Robin Hood), in a third series of Edward Rowett’s snappy sitcom about Hardacre’s, the worst advertising agency in London. Hardacre (Havers), Joe (Baynton) and Amanda (Joie Lawrence) are feeling down in the dumps after losing their biggest client at the end of last series; a tranche of morale boosting activities don’t help. The cast has great comedy chops, and there are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.

CMA Music Festival 2018 RADIO 2, 9.00PM

The world’s biggest country music festival took place in June this year in Nashville, Tennessee (where else?). Over the course of a four-part series, Radio 2 presents a selection of the highlights from the festival’s hundreds of acts, spread across dozens of stages. Australian country star Morgan Evans plays music and speaks to stars including Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker, Kane Brown, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay and the Brothers Osborne, to give the uninitiated (most of us?) a whistle-stop tour of the contemporary American country music scene.
