sir – It has been suggested that the Prime Minister may be assuming that, at the next general election, voters will choose ABC – Anyone But Corbyn.

Since assumptions often lead to mistakes, might this not actually stand for Anyone But Conservative? Barrie Bowen

sir – My application to join the Conservative Party has been rejected without explanation.

It is obvious that Theresa May and her henchmen are determined to prevent anyone joining if they reject her disastrous Brexit negotiations, and the betrayal of both the country and the 17.4 million Leave voters.

Such measures can only further alienate those who should be “natural” Conservatives, but are fed up with an out-of-touch leadership. John Allen
