Barbed question

-

Peter Rabbit, in Mr Mcgregor’s garden, ran into a gooseberry net, and got caught by the buttons on his jacket. He gave himself up for lost, expecting to end up as rabbit pie, and only by luck broke free. The teller of this tale, Beatrix Potter, left 4,000 acres and 14 farms to the National Trust. This much loved body is now being painted as a Mr Mcgregor, responsible, not for gooseberry nets, but for miles of barbed wire. An unlucky deer got caught up in some and perished. Some National Trust members want it all cut down. Easier said than done. Of course a sheep can as easily be caught up by a gorse bush and die if not found as a wild creature be tangled in barbed wire. It does not bear thinking about too much, but all wild animals die, and are not, when feeling unwell, offered a cosy bed and camomile tea like lucky Peter Rabbit.
