Racing hit by four new cases of equine flu
Four new cases of equine flu have been identified in Newmarket, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) announced yesterday. The thoroughbreds tested positive at the yard of flat trainer Simon Crisford.
Horse racing is currently on hold across the country until Wednesday after an enforced six-day shutdown was put in place due to six horses previously testing positive for the infectious disease. The BHA said it would make a decision today on whether the ban would be extended.
