Indonesian police used snake to terrify suspect

Police in Indonesia’s Papua region have apologised for terrorising a detainee with a xsnake after a video was circulated online.

It shows the 6ft-long creature wrapped around the handcuffed suspect’s neck and waist and an officer pushing its head into the man’s face as he screams and his interrogator laughs. Veronica Koman, a human rights lawyer, said there had been several reports of police using snakes.
