Driver jailed for using speed camera jammer

A businessman has been jailed after attaching a jamming device to the front grill of his BMW in order to block police speed cameras.

Michael Twizell, of Dewsbury, West Yorks, pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice at York Crown Court and was sentenced to three months in prison and fined £1,500.

The 58-year-old was driving near Harrogate, North Yorks, last February when he passed a police camera van.

The camera operator saw an error code on the equipment, which led to an investigation by North Yorkshire Police.
