The two main events at the Harrogate Spring Congress are the Swiss Pairs (played over three sessions) and the Swiss Teams, writes Julian Pottage, Bridge Correspondent. 100 Pairs and 50 Teams respectively took part, and winners of these events and the Mixed Pairs are as follows: Swiss Pairs: 1st Michael Byrne and Tom Slater, 145 VPS; 2nd Ted Reveley and Bill Niccol, 128 VPS; 3rd Mike Ash and Rob Ferrari, 124 VPS; and 4th= Degsby Williams and Gavin Mackay 119 VPS; 4th= Chris Jagger and Jeffrey Allerton, 119 VPS. Swiss Teams: 1st Kiat Huang, Mark Wardell, Nick Hunter and Ruby Schnalke, 100 VPS; 2nd Sarah Teshome, Catherine Jagger, Chris Jagger and Jeffrey Allerton, 98 VPS; and 3rd Alan Hayward, Tom Copeland, Phil Morrison and Alan Jarvis, 96 VPS. Mixed Pairs: 1st Fiona Brown and Michael Levi, 62.07%.
