Where do we stand on...

vaping wedding photos

Love is … a complicated emotion that’s often hard to articulate. Some put pen to paper in a gushing letter to their beloved, others spell it out in rose petals, while less conventional folk simply choose to blow their partners away – in a cloud of vape smoke.

In what is shaping up to be a bridal trend for 2019, newly-weds are opting to memorialise their big day not with classic groups shots, but by being snapped while vaping, wreathed in plumes of Alpine Berryflavoured smog. Forget taking deeply awkward, X-rated pics outside the register office (a thing for a while, though Grandma was never a fan …) and groomsmen doing a cringey boyband dance routine. Now, bride and grooms are lighting up as soon as their vows have left their lips.

And nothing says “I do” quite like blowing Cucumber Juul into the visage of your newly betrothed life-partner.

There’s a whole industry gathering, um, steam around the trend, including the vape wedding planner, who suggests the happy couple really ought to “consider choosing a theme based around that flavour to style [their] wedding”; and a wedding vaping etiquette guide for any confused guests unsure of when to get lit. (Short answer? “It’s probably not OK to hit a big vape during the ceremony, when the bride and groom are trading vows.”)

For those who want to ensure their vape cloud really pops in pictures, planners advise that you “decorate your wedding venue with dark backdrops that show off your vapour clouds in stark contrast”.

Unsurprising, really, considering how much of our social interactions these days are performed purely for Insta validation.

Will this new trend be appearing outside a church hall near you on Saturday, then? Well, where there’s smoke…
