A NAKED woman attacked her boyfriend with a wine bottle in a drunken row at a London hotel, a court heard yesterday.

Amelia Oxenford had been drinking all evening with Alex Buttigieg when the two got into a late-night argument in their room at the Ascot Hyde Park Hotel in Bayswater.

Their fight spilled out into the hall- way, where the 21-year-old was filmed on CCTV “lunging” at her partner while naked.

The row left the pair locked out of the room and Mr Buttigieg was forced to ask for a spare key at reception, City of London magistrates’ court was told.

Matters only escalated once they were back inside, however, as Oxenford threw a wine bottle at Mr Buttigieg, slashed his face with a shard of glass and broke his glasses.

The pair had been together for nine months but they had recently separated for a one-month break, during which time Oxenford, of Steeple Morden, Cambs, had seen another man.

Trevor Green, prosecuting, said this had triggered the argument in the hotel at about 2.45am on January 16.

He told the court: “This resulted in Ms Oxenford pushing him into the corridor and on the CCTV she can be seen naked and lunging at the victim.

“He said she threw an empty bottle of wine at him and there was a brief tussle when she reached out for the spectacles on his face and one of the arms were snapped off.”

A small glass was smashed in the bathroom and Oxenford armed herself with a shard and allegedly slashed Mr Buttigieg’s face. Hotel staff dialled 999 and officers arrived to find a “shocked” and “rambling” Mr Buttigieg unsuccessfully trying to stem the flow of blood from a one-inch cut on his nose.

They approached the room to hear a woman shouting and threatening to jump out of the window. One officer said: “She was agitated, under the influence of alcohol, she was drunk.”

Oxenford told the court they had begun drinking early, finishing a bottle of wine during the train journey to London, before having another bottle during dinner and four cocktails.

She was convicted of assault and causing £300 of criminal damage to Mr Buttigieg’s spectacles. Oxenford, who described herself as a “good citizen”, was bailed until May 2 for sentencing.
