England v New Zealand June 1

Brighton’s Amex Stadium hosts the Lionesses’ final match of the “Road to France” series before Phil Neville’s squad depart for the World Cup.

England are one of the favourites this summer, on the back of their Shebelieve­s Cup success in the United States in March.

The first Lionesses fixture staged by Brighton was a 9-0 thrashing of Montenegro in a World Cup qualifier in 2014. New Zealand will provide a sterner test as they finalise their World Cup plans. TV BBC One, 1pm

Quilter Cup England v Barbarians, June 2

This is a groundbrea­king moment for the Red Roses, who will play on the hallowed Twickenham turf before the men. The women’s match will kick off at 12.45pm before the men’s match at 3pm.

Barbarian Women launched 18 months ago and won their first fixtures, against Munster Women and the Army, but England will be their first internatio­nal opponents. The game will act as preparatio­n for the Red Roses’ summer tour of the US in July.
