Pop group mocked by MP over climate change

A pop band that recorded a song with Greta Thunberg have been accused of hypocrisy by a Conservative MP as they prepare for a world tour.

David Davies, the member for Monmouth, asked in a mocking letter whether the band The 1975 would travel by train or by yacht with “mate” Greta Thunberg to lessen their carbon footprint.

The band recently recorded a track with the teenage climate campaigner, announcing that all proceeds would go to Extinction Rebellion.

Mr Davies wrote: “Given your concern about the ‘climate emergency’, I just wondered how you are going to get to all these places?”
