HAVING a millionaire rock-star as a parent might come with its perks. But Jade Jagger has complained that having a Rolling Stone as a father is a “hindrance” rather than a help.

The daughter of Sir Mick and Bianca Jagger spoke of her frustrations during a summit for working women.

“I mean, it is a hindrance. Yesterday I was Googling something, and I found an awful, tragic piece about me in a newspaper saying ‘she just can do whatever she wants’ and it’s very demoralising after you’ve worked to try and achieve something,” she said.

“But also, obviously, seeing what my family has done always makes you look up to something higher, that is almost unachievable.”

for Asprey and Garrard, now has her own jewellery brand.

She spent part of her childhood in New York where her babysitters included Andy Warhol, a friend of her mother. It was he who inspired her to follow an artistic career.

Jagger had her first child at 20, her last at 42, and is now a grandmother.

Asked during a talk at the Harper’s Bazaar At Work Summit in London if she had any regrets, she replied: “I’ve got three children and three grandchildren, and they take up an awful lot of my time.

“It’s not a regret, but sometimes I look at my life and I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t gone so heavy on the kids! Or [having them] not so early, or not so late.”

Her daughters, Assisi and Amber, have defined themselves by “not wanting to work as hard as maybe I did”, Jagger said.

“My daughter at the moment has chosen to look after her kids – she did study at university and I think she will go back into the workplace.”

She joked that she did not have the energy of her father, who is still touring with the Rolling Stones at the age of 76. “I’m certainly not going to be jumping around on stage in the pouring rain. I have my limits,” she said.
