The allegation­s against former first minister

Alex Salmond is accused of 14 sexual and indecent assault charges dating back to his time as first minister of Scotland and leader of the SNP.

The charges, which he denies, span from 2008 to 2014. The women are guaranteed anonymity and cannot be identified.

Below is a list of the allegation­s he faces:

The former leader of the SNP attempted to rape Woman H at Bute House in 2014. It is alleged he lifted her legs over his, repeatedly kissed her on the face and neck, placed his hands inside her upper clothing and over her underwear, before blocking her path, pinning her against a wall, pulling and then removing some of her clothing and underwear.

It is claimed he then pushed her on to a bed, knelt over her and laid naked on top of her.

Also at Bute House, Mr Salmond was accused of sexually assaulting Woman H in May 2014 by placing his hand under clothing and underwear, kissing her on the face and neck and stroking her leg with his hand.

Mr Salmond was said to have kissed Woman A on her mouth and touched her buttocks and breasts over her clothing between June 29 and July 24 2008 in Glasgow.

In December 2010 or in December 2011, at the Ego nightclub in Edinburgh, it is claimed he touched Woman A’s arms and hips over clothing.

At Bute House, Mr Salmond was said to have repeatedly seized Woman B by the wrists and pulled her towards him and attempted to kiss her in October or November 2010.

Woman C was alleged to have been touched on her leg over her clothing while in a car with Mr Salmond in Edinburgh in February 2011.

Woman D was said to have been sexually assaulted between 2011 and 2013 at Bute House, the Scottish Parliament, among other locations, by Mr Salmond touching her buttocks with his hands over her clothing, stroking her arms and touching and stroking her hair.

Mr Salmond is alleged to have sexually assaulted Woman E at Bute House in October 2013 by removing her shoe, stroking her foot and lifting it towards his mouth and trying to kiss it.

Again at Bute House, he is accused of kissing Woman F on the mouth in November or December 13.

In December 2013, Mr Salmond is said to have intended to rape Woman F at Bute House by lying on top of her, making sexual remarks, touching her buttocks, thighs and breasts over her clothing and repeatedly kissing her face, struggling with her and pulling up her dress.

Mr Salmond is accused of sexually assaulting Woman F with intent to rape.

In the Ubiquitous Chip restaurant in Glasgow in 2012, Mr

Salmond is said to have touched Woman G’s buttocks with his hands over her clothes.

Woman G also alleges he placed his arm around her, making sexual remarks and attempting to kiss her in April 2014.

He is also accused of seizing Woman J’s shoulders, kissing her on the face, attempting to kiss her on the lips and touching her on the lips, face and legs at Bute House in September 2014.

Woman K claims he touched her buttocks with his hands over her clothing at Stirling Castle in November 2014.
