♦ A national camp-out, which is taking place in people’s tents and campervans in their gardens, has raised more than £80,000 for the NHS. Ian Alcorn, who started the fundraisin­g campaign, initially hoped to raise £100.

♦ Italy has recorded its lowest daily death toll in more than two weeks – the number of patients in intensive care has continued to drop, too. Spain has also registered its lowest daily death toll since March 24, announcing that the number of patients in intensive care has stabilised.

♦ The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley has turned its paintings into online jigsaws, encouragin­g people to piece together the daily puzzle virtually. People across the globe have been competing.

♦ Amsterdam locals have tried to lift the lockdown mood by organising a mass singalong to Bob Marley’s upbeat hit Three Little Birds.

Residents gathered at windows and on balconies to belt out the tune, which contains the famous chorus “Don’t worry about a thing, because every little thing is going to be alright” on Sunday evening. The tune is a favourite with fans of the city’s biggest football club Ajax.

♦ An Italian woman aged 103, Ada Zanusso, has recovered from coronaviru­s after first developing a high fever in mid-march. Ada will turn 104 in August and says she’s looking forward to being in her garden.

♦ Every day, musicians from a Hungarian orchestra drive around Budapest playing uplifting classics from loudspeake­rs. “It seems like we are managing to make many generation­s very happy with playing music, even in these weird, stressful times,” said viola player Attila Kovács.

♦ Musical theatre costume designers have traded in their sequins for a roll of blue cotton and started making NHS scrubs. Carry on

♦ South Korea reported fewer than 50 new cases for the first time since its peak in late February.
