Motorcyclists cannot go for ride, say police
POLICE have warned motorcyclists that they are not allowed to “just go for a ride” under the current lockdown rules.
Officers in Richmond, North Yorks, issued the reminder amid fears locals are being put at risk by bikers breaking social distancing guidelines by riding through the town.
Residents of Hawes have voiced concern after groups of motorcyclists stopped in the town centre on their way to the Yorkshire Dales last week when the lockdown restrictions were eased. them are not social distancing. Some are but most are not and it is totally exasperating. They have been a lot more visible today and they have been in the town for quite a long time, but it is more likely they had some kind of antenna – as soon as the police go they all come back.
“If they come and park up there will be nothing to do other than admire their bikes and we would rather they did not do that.”
