Little Richard’s flamboyant stage outfits up for auction

SOME of the most flamboyant mboyant outfits of the rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Little Richard are going under the hammer.

The trailblaze­r who influenced artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie and nd Elton John, died in May aged ed 87.

Items once belonging nging to the singer are to be auctioned, alongside memorabili­a owned and used by some of the biggest names in music, as part of Julien’s ulien’s Auctions’ Icons and Idols ols Trilogy: Rock ‘n’ Roll sale next xt month in Los Angeles.

A purple polyester ster vest adorned with sequins uins and a pair of matching bell- bottomed trousers combined ombined with a lime green and nd purple silk scarf, pictured, d, has a guide price of £1,500-£2,300, 0-£2,300, as does a silver a and black mock turtleneck top – c complete with makeup residu residue and matching trousers – worn by Little Richard on t the cover of 1970 album The Th Rill Thing.

His ow own musical scores for some of h his best known songs – includi including Tutti Frutti, Lucille and G Good Golly, Miss Molly – are a als o f or s ale, and expected to fetch between £300 and £450 each. Persona Personal items once belonging to the s singer, including his passport, will also be going under the hammer on Dec 1 and 2. Other ite items in the auction include two guitars owned by Jimi Hendr Hendrix. A white Fender Stratocast­er could fetch as much as £381,000 £381,000.

A 1975 guitar owned and played by Bob Marley is estimated to sell for £60,000£76,000.
