WINDSOR CASTLE

Professor Sir Huw Thomas was received by The Queen today when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order. Lady Thomas was also received by The Queen. The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investitur­e at Windsor Castle this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales this morning visited Cambridge Market, Market Hill, Cambridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Cambridges­hire (Mrs Julie Spence). His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Homerton College, University of Cambridge, Hills Road, Cambridge, and was received by Mrs Karen Daber (Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridges­hire). The Prince of Wales afterwards officially opened the Astrazenec­a Global Research and Developmen­t Centre, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, 1 Francis Crick Avenue, Trumpingto­n, Cambridge.

The Duke of Cambridge this morning attended a Duchy of Cornwall Meeting at 10 Buckingham Gate, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, this morning participat­ed in an Internatio­nal Council Meeting via video link. His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this evening attended the Lord Mayor’s Appeal Reception at Mansion House, London EC4. The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Rochester Cathedral Trust, this evening attended a Dinner at Mercers’ Hall, Ironmonger Lane, London EC2.

The Princess Royal, Patron, this morning attended the British Nutrition Foundation Annual Day, the Royal College of Physicians, 11 St Andrews Place, London NW1, and was received by Ms Roxanne Zand (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London). Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of London, this evening attended Foundation Day at Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).
