PALACE OF HOLYROODHO­USE

June 29th Mrs Alison Johnstone, MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament), was received by The Queen today.

The Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon, MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government), was received by Her Majesty.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, on behalf of The Queen, gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodho­use.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar and The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence were present. The Queen’s Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodho­use were on duty.

The Royal Marine Band Scotland, the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Pipers’ Society played selections of music during the afternoon.

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Lars Thuesen at 55 Sloane Street, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Ambassador from the Kingdom of Denmark to the Court of St James’s.

June 29th The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this afternoon unveiled a memorial to pandemic workers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning received Captain Richard Hewitt upon assuming his appointmen­t as Commanding Officer HMS Prince of Wales.

June 29th The Earl of Wessex and Forfar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Internatio­nal Award Foundation, this morning attended a Meeting via video link.

The Countess of Wessex and Forfar this morning visited Riccarton Hub, Capability Scotland, Mercury House, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

June 29th The Princess Royal, President, the Royal Agricultur­al Society of the Commonweal­th, this morning attended the Annual General Meeting during a visit to the One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Royal Norfolk Show, Norfolk Showground, Dereham Road, Norwich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Norfolk (the Lady Dannatt).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Celtic Society, accompanie­d by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening attended a Reception at the Royal Scots Club, 29-31 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr James Thomson (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

KENSINGTON PALACE

June 29th The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, the Worshipful Company of Pattenmake­rs, this morning received Mrs Jennifer Bryantpear­son upon relinquish­ing her appointmen­t as Master and Mrs Sarah Leijten upon assuming the appointmen­t.

Colonel Robert Murfin (Clerk) was present. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent celebrate the 44th anniversar­y of their marriage today.
