Clairvoyant will use her powers to win Traitors

- By Craig Simpson

A “CLAIRVOYANT” contestant taking part in The Traitors has vowed to use her gut instinct to triumph in the new season.

Tracey, a 58-year-old NHS worker based in Inverness, is aiming to show off her “very spiritual” side in the BBC reality TV show.

The self-described clairvoyant will join 21 contestants aiming to win the £120,000 prize by either weeding out “traitors” or by betraying fellow competitors and lying their way to victory.

Tracey said: “As far as a game plan goes, I am going in without one.

“I’m just going to live moment to moment and do what feels right, trust my gut instinct.”

The clairvoyant and professional sonographer said that she uses her “gut instinct a lot” and is also “good at lying”, which she hopes will offer her an advantage in the new season which airs this week after a successful first series in 2022.

The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman and filmed at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, proved a hit with viewers and the first season was won by the honest “faithful” cohort of contestants.

Tracey aims to be among the faithful, and believes her time in the Royal Air Force has prepared her for the challenges on the programme, saying that she was used to “mad exercises and jumping out of helicopters and being winched into the sea”.

The NHS worker hopes to retire should she get a share of the £120,000 prize money, saying: “When I got divorced, I bought the house because I wanted to keep me and the kids in the family home for stability.

“I had to re-mortgage and consequently still owe loads of mortgage. I sometimes think ‘Oh my God, I’m going to still be working in the NHS when I’m 70, they’ll be wheeling me in.’

“I’ve given the NHS nearly 40 years, so I feel like I would try and pay loads of mortgage off and then retire.”

Tracey will go up against a mix of contestants, including a parliamentary affairs adviser, a chess coach, and a disability model.

The new season of The Traitors starts on Jan 3 at 9pm on BBC One and iplayer.
