Fayed’s daughter charged with robbery after brother’s phone ‘stolen by her bodyguards’
MOHAMED FAYED’S daughter has been charged with robbery after allegedly ordering her bodyguards to steal her brother’s phone at the businessman’s Surrey mansion.
Camilla Fayed, 39, her husband, Mohamed Esreb, 43, and their close protection officers, Cpl Matthew Littlewood and Andrew Bott, are accused of conspiring to steal a £1,900 iphone belonging to Omar Fayed.
Guildford Crown Court heard that the robbery allegedly took place in the gym of Barrow Green Court, the family’s Grade I-listed estate in Oxted.
All four defendants were charged with a single count of robbery in December following a police investigation, the Mail reported.
The incident allegedly took place on May 18 2020. No pleas have yet been entered and all defendants were released on bail.
Mr Esreb appeared alone in court on Wednesday for a hearing, wearing a dark shirt and trousers, and the court heard he was yet to secure legal representation. His wife is being represented by Gudrun Young KC, whose previous clients include a number of celebrities, the court heard.
Egyptian-born Mohamed Fayed – the former Harrods and Fulham FC boss whose son Dodi was killed in a car crash alongside Diana, Princess of Wales – died at the age of 94 in August.
After abandoning a career as a fashion entrepreneur by selling her label, Issa, to House of Fraser in 2017, Camilla opened Farmacy, an upmarket vegan restaurant in Notting Hill. It counts Madonna and Stella Mccartney among its patrons.
Cpl Littlewood – Camilla’s bodyguard and co-accused – was awarded a Brigadier’s Commendation for Distinguished Service for his three tours of Afghanistan.
There he led a reconnaissance team tasked with uncovering Taliban weapons caches and capturing “highvalue targets”.
