Valance spurns return to ‘woke’ Australia

HOLLY VALANCE, the former Neighbours star, has said she has no plans to move back to “woke” Australia and declared she will be voting for Reform UK at the next election.

The model and pop singer said her home country used to be a “fun” place to live, but claimed the “nanny state” would now “fine you for breathing” as “the woke stuff ’s really gone big”.

Pledging her support for Reform, she urged Nigel Farage to “pull his finger out” and take over as leader as she predicted the insurgent party could obliterate the Tories.

She also praised Lee Anderson for defecting after he was stripped of the Tory whip because she said it shows he is not a “turncoat”.

Speaking about her homeland in an interview with GB News’s new Chopper’s Political Podcast, she said: “I’m still getting the fines from Victoria every few months for not voting ... [the] general nanny state fine you for breathing.

“The Australia I grew up in was unreal. It was so fun and we didn’t seem to have all these problems. The woke stuff ’s really gone big in Australia.”

Asked about her politics, she said: “Last time I voted Conservatives. Next time I’ll be voting Reform.” But she said she won’t be going “anywhere” even if Labour wins, as she is “very patriotic” to the UK.

“My mother is from Southampton. My whole family is English. I don’t want to go anywhere. And Nick [Candy, her property tycoon husband] doesn’t want to go anywhere. We prefer to be in our country,” she said.

On Mr Anderson, she said: “I support anybody that sort of sticks to what they believe in and isn’t a turncoat, doesn’t do a million flip flops and U-turns.

“So I can have respect for that, even for nutters on the other side, if you stick to what you believe and you keep reiterating that over years and years, I can always respect that.”

She said Reform would “probably” spell the end of the Tory party, but stressed she does not think “we’re necessarily going to have a Reform government”.
