BALMORAL CASTLE April 10th

The King received Admiral Sir Antony Radakin (Chief of the Defence Staff) at Buckingham Palace this afternoon. His Majesty held a Council at 4.15 pm. There were present: the Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Victoria Atkins MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care), the Rt Hon Claire Coutinho MP (Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero) and the Rt Hon Melvyn Stride MP (Secretary of State for Work and Pensions). The Lord Armstrong and Mr Owen Thompson MP were sworn in as members of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. Mr Vaughan Gething MS made affirmatio­n as a member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council. The Rt Hon Sir Clive Alderton (Principal Private Secretary to Their Majesties) was in attendance. The Rt Hon Penelope Mordaunt MP had an audience of The King before the Council. Later, the Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of His Majesty at Buckingham Palace. By command of The King, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Il Choe at 73 Gunnersbur­y Avenue, London W5, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquish­ing his appointmen­t as Ambassador from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the Court of St James’s.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Helmshore Mills Textile Museum, Holcombe Road, Helmshore, Rossendale, and was received by His Majesty’s Lord-lieutenant of Lancashire (Mrs Amanda Parker). Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Trawden Village Community Projects at Church Street, Trawden, Colne, Lancashire. The Princess Royal later visited HMS Venturer in build at Venturer Hall, Rosyth Dockyard, Fife.

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this afternoon presided at the Post-graduate Degree Ceremony for the Faculty of Engineerin­g and Physical Sciences at Guildford Cathedral, Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey.
