KEEPING THE CAN
QMy favourite galvanised watering can has sprung a leak. Normally, I would have thrown it out but it has great sentimental value, having belonged to my mother. Is there a way to repair it?

AThere are various products on the market recommended for sealing items such as watering cans. One, mentioned before by a Field reader, is Quiksteel Epoxy Putty. It is quick drying and should set firmly within 15 minutes. Let the watering can dry out and apply the putty as per instructions, making sure that after kneading and mixing the Quiksteel you wipe your fingers and moisten them as this ensures the product sticks to the watering can and not your fingers. Contact quiksteel.co.uk to purchase a tube for £7.
