SAUNDERS: WE NEED TO SPEND

DEAN Saunders insists a productive January transfer window is vital if Doncaster Rovers want to stay in the promotion mix.

After an investment boost from Rovers’ shareholders last week, Saunders now has the green light to sign three new players when the window opens.

“The sooner I can get players in the better,” he said.

“We’ve got to start thinking about getting promoted. The squad we’ve got right now is going to struggle to maintain what we’ve managed to do so far.

“This squad needs a bit of help so I’m really pleased the directors feel we can add to it.”
