Rosler still smiling as Bees held by Shrews
SHREWSBURY......0 BRENTFORD ......0
Matt Richards free-kick wide.
Trotta bustled his way through to graze the post with a rasping drive on 42 minutes but Shrewsbury were a fraction away from taking the lead as a Connor Goldson’s 25-yarder whistled just past the post.
It was end to end at the start of the second half as Rodgers sent a rising drive over the Brentford bar and Trotta was poised to celebrate in the 55th minute when his blockbuster was palmed away by Chris Weale.
Shrewsbury came sweeping back in the 67th minute as Goldson swept the ball into the path of Jon Taylor whose effort was headed off the line by Harlee Dean to set up a frantic finale.
Rosler said it was a fair result and he was happy with a point.
“At this time of the year it is all about getting points and I thought it was a very good one," he said. "We went to a 4-4-2 and went for it.We had some good opportunities but they did as well on the counter.
"Taylor is a threat, Morgan is a threat but we coped very well as a group.
"Compliments to Shrewsbury as they had a game plan at our place and we drew 0-0. Both teams were equal and we got a draw. I can live with that especially when you see the results from other teams."
