TERRY BRA­MALL, one of Don­caster Rovers’ own­ers, has joined the mass of Olympic and Par­a­lympic heroes in be­ing recog­nised in the Queen’s New Years’ Hon­ours List.

Bra­mall has been awarded a CBE for his phi­lan­thropy, hav­ing es­tab­lished a char­i­ta­ble trust, with a gross do­na­tion of £96m.

Former Ipswich chair­man David Sheepshanks is also cel­e­brat­ing.

Sheepshanks, who was in charge at Port­man Road for 13 years from 1995, has also been ap­pointed a CBE for ser­vices to foot­ball and char­i­ties in Suf­folk.

He is now the chair­man of the Na­tional Foot­ball Cen­tre.
