EVANS HAS EYES ON A STRIKER

ROTHERHAM manager Steve Evans insists he will not spend beyond his means in January – claiming value is the watchword at the New York Stadium.

Evans has narrowed his search for a new striker down to two and is also prepared to allow some of his current squad take their leave.

“It’s an either or scenario,” said the Scot on his striker search.“Our chief operating officer Paul Douglas has had a few chats with those people and we’ll see where it goes.

“At our level we are talking good money, and if we do spend it we’ll make sure we are prudent in doing so.”
